Policy Paper No. 136, 2002

Executive Summary

The main factor affecting the security issues in the Middle East is the outcome of the US “War Against Terror”. If this war succeeds, and the danger of weapons of mass destruction is eliminated, the area will be ready for a US-Soviet type of peace.

If the US succeeds partially, or not at all, the implications of Iran’s and Iraq’s possession of weapons of mass destruction in parallel with terrorist activities, will affect the structure and security of the Middle East and thereby the structure, strategy, armament and tactics of the Israeli Air Force.
