Dr. Susanne Urban is
an historian and works mainly on the history of
Jews in Germany, especially the period between 1900 and 1945 and the
post-War period. She also works on German-Jewish and Israeli literature,
is on the editorial staff of the Jewish journal,
Tribune and does freelance work in the Jewish Museum in Frankfurt/Man
since the 1990s. SU is head of various
projects (a CD-ROM about Jews after 1945; German civic education in
cooperation with Yad Vashem) and is responsible for the exhibit “Rescue the
Children!” on the history of Aliyat Hanoar
in the past 70 years (2003)
which was displayed at
the Jewish Museum in Frankfurt/Man. As
a Fellow Researcher at Yad Vashem in 2004 she is
working on the History of Youth Aliya between 1932 and 1948
and is preparing a book on Hungarian Jewish slave laborers at Volkswagen in
1944/45. Susanne Urban has lectured on contemporary anti-Semitism and
anti-Zionism at International Conferences and has written several articles
on the topic. She is a frequent contributor to NATIV.
