Jeffrey A. Isaacson is the Director of Rand’s International Security and Defense Policy Center. His research interests include ballistic missile defense, long-range planning and conventional weapons proliferation. JI has led a number of studies focusing on the ability of weapons importers to integrate advanced technology within their militaries. A scientist by training, JI
has also published articles on magnetic fusion, astrophysics and quantum field
theory. He holds degrees from Columbia, Princeton and MIT, where he earned a
Doctorate in Theoretical Physics.
