David Vaughan

David Vaughan graduated from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering and is a Senior Engineer at RAND. Most recently he studied Infrared Data Requirements and Joint Interoperability for Ballistic Missile Defense. Previously he led projects on Operational Concepts and Investment Strategy for Theater Missile Defense, Strategic Ballistic Missile Defense Penetration Systems, Holding SRTs at Risk, and Reconnaissance Surveillance and Targeting. Previously, at R&D Associates for eight years he led a program on Vulnerability and Effectiveness of SLBM Strategic Weapon Systems. Earlier at IDA and McDonnell Douglas he worked on early warning radars, surface-to-air missiles, depressed trajectories, and guidance for Sprint, Spartan, and Upstage.
