Israel's Media Watch (IMW) <www.imw.org.il> A non-partisan civics rights advocacy group which acts in the furtherance of public values and the law. It seeks to assure that the employees of the various broadcasting media adhere to the highest standards of journalism ethics. Israel's Media Watch publishes reports on fairness and balance in the public media and analyzes the media's coverage and its compliance with Israel's legislation and ethics codes. It is the contention of IMW that the microphones and cameras placed at the disposal of media personnel - editors, reporters, moderators and commentators - are not their private instruments. Misuse of these damages the credibility of the media and weakens the democratic society. IMW seeks to educate the public towards responsible media consumerism leading to a positive feedback loop between the media and the consumer.
